WSM Costa Rica 2010 :)

On July 11, I left Fresno to go to Costa Rica on a mission trip with 15 students and 4 leaders. It is my first mission trip in 5 years and I was nervous and excited.
We flew out on Monday the 12th and 20 hours later we finally landed in San Jose, Costa Rica. The first person we saw was Dustin. It was great to see a friendly face. From there we loaded a bus and then we would drive 30 min to Desamparados where we will spend the next 11 days.
We really didnt know what to expect because we have never worked with S.I. On our first day we had orientation and a lesson on the culture of Costa Rica. We got to see how they make coffee and the different fruit they have. From there we broke out into our groups. There are 5 teams: Social Service, Construction, Photography, Woodwork and Tutoring Service. These are the teams that we will be in for the next 10 days.
I was in the social service team. We got to hangout with kids, teach them english, and just love on them. In the afternoons we will play soccer with them. Twice a week we would do aerobics with the ladies in the community.
Each team did something that would include the community. It was nice to come back to the hostel and hear about each team and what they did for the day. Each night we would have something different. anything from game night to team night to hearing some of the locals talk about the city.
On our only weekend we there, we went to the beach and Jeff got to baptize 7 students. That was such a blessing to be apart of. Seeing these students make this kind of commitment. Then on Sunday we got to go to church. Sunday we went to the park and chilled and that was nice.
On Monday we started our week again. Since this was our last week, it seemed to go by so fast. Before you knew it, it was Friday and we were packing and getting ready to go back to the states.
We left on Saturday July 24 at 4:30 am CR time. (3:30 CA time) It was a LONG day and after 20 hours we were back in Fresno, back to reality, back to adjusting.

I had such an amazing time, and i am still not done learning from it. I want to thank all of you who supported. Here are some pictures from the trip. I have over 800 pics but i am trying to narrow it down to at least 100. If you want to see them just let me know. :)
